TACT: Climb Kilimanjaro 2013
Following the tremendous response we received for our 2012 Mount Kilimanjaro climb we have decided to set up another trip to take on the world's tallest freedstanding mountain in 2013.
What's the event? Join us for a once in a lifetime to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa.
When's the trip taking place? We will be leaving for Tanzania on Friday 22 February 2013 and returning to the UK on Sunday 2 March 2013.
Can I take part? Yes, of course. We'd love to welcome you onto the team.
Will I need to raise money? Yes. We'll be asking each participant to raise a minimum of £3,950. Of this amount £1,580 will cover your tour cost. This includes your accommodation, guides, doctor, meals (excl two meals) and flights. The remaining £2,370 will be direct profit for TACT to help and support children and young people in care across the UK. In addition to the £3,950 please note that you will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of £499. This is payable upon signing up to the trip.
That's a lot of money. Will TACT help me? Of course. TACT will do what we can to help you reach your £3,950 fundraising target. We will provide you with regular fundraising ideas as support and assistance with any fundraising events you may choose to hold. We can also provide you wish a training schedule, equipment list and much more to help you prepare. You will also be invited to attend TACT's Kilimanjaro training weekend which will take place in October.
Which route will TACT use? We have opted for the Machame route which you will climb over 10 days. This allows for gradual acclimatisation which is vital to helping you reach the top.
Who will TACT be climbing with? We have chosen to run our trip with Discover Adventure. They have been running trips like this for nearly 20 years and come with a wealth of experience and knowledge.
