BSIA: Scotland: Secure for Business

New event set to prepare Scottish businesses for security challenges

Times should be confirmed with event organiser

A brand new event is set to provide Scottish businesses with a wealth of advice and guidance on security issues, including the centralisation of Scottish fire and police services, cyber security, transport security and the opportunities presented by the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Alongside a conference and exhibition, the event also offers an opportunity for Scottish-based security businesses to explore business partnerships by providing one-to-one meetings with large security suppliers interested in partnering with small and medium enterprises based in the region.

Entitled ‘Scotland: Secure for Business’, the event will inform local businesses about security trends, and will take place at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium on Tuesday, 23rd October.

The event also aims to promote the capability of Scottish SMEs involved in security, matching them with large companies in 15-20 minute meetings to explore mutual opportunities around the common theme of security, and providing them with the opportunity to meet with potential customers in both the public and commercial sectors.

Developed by the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) and delivered with the support of Scottish Enterprise, the event will welcome delegates from a range of business sectors, with an informative conference and exhibition that’s free to attend.

Ross White, Senior Executive – Aerospace, Defence and Marine at Scottish Enterprise, commented: “This one-day security-focused event is aimed at providing businesses with the latest information and guidance on planning for the impact of a multitude of security challenges, including cyber crime, in addition to exploring the impact of forthcoming changes to Scottish policing and the imminent arrival of the Commonwealth Games.

“The additional ‘meet the buyer’ element also shows our support for Scottish businesses, enabling them to develop meaningful business relationships with the biggest players in the security sector, promoting the ability of Scottish businesses to make a real impact on a national scale.”

Willie Clark, Scottish Regional Representative at the BSIA, commented: “This is an exciting opportunity to showcase the Scottish Security Industry, provide information on relevant issues, and to help create new business partnerships and opportunities whilst also promoting the quality and professionalism of BSIA members."

Scottish-based businesses that would benefit from advice and guidance on business security and planning for the Commonwealth Games can register to attend the conference and exhibition by completing this online delegate registration form.
