Rethink Mental Illness (and others): Time to Change Event

Time to Change Event

Time and further information can be confirmed on request – see contact details below

Time to Change is England's biggest ever programme to end the stigma and discrimination faced by people with mental health problems, run by the charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness and funded by the Department of Health and Comic Relief.

A key aim is to get journalists and programme makers talking about mental health. We believe media portrayals and reporting of mental health problems are an incredibly powerful tool for educating and influencing the public, when they are done accurately and sensitively.

We are planning a series of events aimed at different sections of the media across the lifetime of the campaign. The launch event will be for editors and journalists from women's and lifestyle magazines and will be held in The Hospital Club, London on the evening of Monday 16th April.

The event will be a space for journalists to learn more about mental health problems by meeting people with direct experience and hearing their stories, along with some top speakers from the magazine world.

Listen to host Sally Brampton talk about her experiences of mental illness and her insiders view of working in the magazine world.
Hear why one best-selling magazine is devoting an entire issue to depression.
Be inspired by the stories of women with experience of mental health problems.
Join in the debate – ask our panel a question.
Network with journalists from other magazines over a glass of wine.
