Jules and Steve Owen, racing for MRSA Action UK

Julia (aka Jules) and Steve Owen ran throughout 2011 in memory of Donald Owen, Steve's dad, who sadly passed away after contracting MRSA following a knee operation. Their phenomenal efforts are recognised everywhere they go raising awareness of MRSA and we are privileged to have them doing this to raise funds for MRSA Action UK. They clocked up their eleventh race on the 11th December 2011 in the Bedford Half Marathon.

We met Jules and Steve for the first time in July 2011 and cheered them on in Lancashire in November for one of their half marathons. 2012 will be just as busy for them both, especially with Jules’ volunteering role in the 2012 Olympics. Jules will fulfil her dream of being involved as an Olympics GamesMaker at the Hilton in Park Lane, and will be an Accreditation and Chaperone GamesMaker at both the Paralympics and the Olympics, in July and August.

If they are running at a venue near you during 2012 and you get the opportunity to cheer them on we are sure they would love to see you. If you can't make it then leave a message on their Just Giving page.

Their 2012 Schedule is a busy one:

January's run is The Canterbury 10 Miler (11:00am Sunday 29th January)
February's is The Hotel Olympia 10k, Docklands
March will be the Bath Half again

June will be the Southend Half Marathon
