NASUWT: the appointment of the new chief inspector
Commenting on the appointment of Sir Michael Wilshaw as Ofsted’s new chief inspector, Chris Keates, General Secretary of the NASUWT, the largest teachers’ union, said:
“This is a critical appointment for teachers and the whole school community.
“Some people may view the appointment of a chief inspector with anxiety, but the key test will be how he discharges his responsibilities.
“Teachers, parents and the public have a right to expect that Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector will act with integrity, diligence, independence and fairness across the whole school system.”
