NUT comment on qualifications review
Commenting on the today’s qualifications review announcement by the Deputy Minister for Skills, NUT Wales Secretary David Evans said this:
“This review is very welcome. Hopefully it will offer an opportunity for people throughout the teaching profession to provide the Minister with constructive feedback.
“We are especially pleased that the Deputy Minister has specifically highlighted the need to simplify the qualifications system. We would expect any discussion around this theme to take into consideration issues around teacher’s workloads.
“Ensuring that the qualifications students gain are respected and understood when they move into employment is vitally important. We are sure that the advisory group conducting the review will be seeking the views of NUT members delivering education policy in classrooms across Wales, and we will be happy to provide insight into what areas improvements can be made.” Notes to editor: Information on the qualifications review can be found at –
