RHA: Keep your business on track

From September until November 2011, the Road Haulage Association, supported by Iveco, will be running a series Road Shows focusing on the latest compliance issues affecting UK road hauliers.

A total of eight events will take place across the UK and Northern Ireland covering a variety of topics including fuel efficiency and Euro 6*, the London Low Emission Zone**, the NEST Pension Scheme***, and the transport and logistical ramifications of the 2012 Olympics.

The Road Shows also will feature updates from Traffic Commissioners, presentations on employment law, changes to the Access to the Profession Regulations and new engine technology advancements. In addition, each Road Show will also look at the impact of regional issues relevant to the Show’s location.

“The RHA Road Shows provide the perfect opportunity for attendees to hear, first hand their Traffic Commissioners view of the key issues. They also provide a chance to network within a focussed time frame”, said Steve Ellis, Head of RHA Training. “In addition, each of the presenters will be on hand to answer questions”.

The cost for RHA members is only £80 + VAT and the cost for non-members £90 + VAT – exceptional value for time AND money.

“Attendance at one of the Road Shows could be one of the best investments of time you make. If you only attend one business event this year, make sure it is one of our Road Shows.”

Notes to Editors

* Iveco will provide a review of the factors affecting fuel consumption and the impact and the opportunities that they present in the current environment. Euro 6 and the possible challenges and available technologies to achieve Euro 6 emissions will also be covered, and vehicles will be available for inspection.

** Stricter rules for the Low Emission Zone come into effect on 3 January 2012. Eminox, UK suppliers of retrofit emissions technology, will give an overview at various locations of the changes and the implications for operators. They will also cover diesel particulate filter technologies, explaining why different system types are suitable for some vehicles and duty cycles.

*** From 2012, employers will have to enrol their employees into a workplace pension scheme that satisfies or exceeds Government standards and make a minimum contribution for some of their workers. A speaker from the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST), a national low-charge pension scheme, will talk about fundamental changes to the pensions’ landscape and how these will affect employers.
