BASC: Fun for all the family at BASC Wales Game and Country Fair 2011

BASC: Fun for all the family at BASC Wales Game and Country Fair 2011

There will be a host of new attractions at this year’s fair, which will be held at Bodelwyddan Castle, Denbighshire, on 25th and 26th June.

TV chef Anthony Evans will cook game twice daily in the BASC marquee and expert staff from BASC will be on hand to offer advice on a range of sporting issues.

BASC-accredited shotgun coaches will offer advice to novice and experienced shots and there will be an opportunity for people to qualify for the BASC Safe Shot Award. BASC’s Airgun Safe Shot Award, which recognises the confident and safe use of airguns in a field-based situation, will be officially launched at the show.

This year’s sporting clay shoot will have a new look to it as the layout will be set up by international expert Matthew Barrett of Promatic Traps. Mr Barrett is also a keen member of the Dee Wildfowling and Wetland Management Club, whose members will be providing the organisation and manpower for the shoot.

As well as a 30-bird sporting re-entry shoot, a new feature will be a 40-bird two-man flush. There are daily prizes for high gun, ladies, veterans and juniors. Only fibre-wad cartridges are to be used and these will be on sale at the shoot.

There will also be arena events on both days, trade stands, gundog events, a brand new children’s area, a stick dressing exhibition, muzzle-loading shotguns and more.

Admission is £9 for adults and £4 for children. Under fives will get in free. For more information, contact BASC Wales on 01686 688861.
