Unite, the UK’s largest union will on Thursday 12th November launch a national campaign for employees in the Lloyds Banking Group (LBG).

At a press conference in London Unite Deputy General Secretary, Jack Dromey and Unite Finance National Officer, Rob MacGregor will on Thursday outline the union’s campaign to bring a cultural change within the LBG and ultimately the finance sector.

Unite is campaigning to sever the link between selling and pay within LBG, calling for:

– an end to the unfair bonus culture,
– ending of unachievable targets and
– staff get a fair day’s pay that’s is not linked to sales.

At the press conference Unite will cite examples of workers who are having to reach unachievable sales targets to achieve their annual bonus payment.

The union campaign is calling for fundamental changes within the bank in order to end the culture that has caused the recent credit crunch by severing the link between pay and sales at the retail bank. The union is calling for a cultural change at the bank in order to support staff and better serve customers.
