Unite launches revolutionary new online general election tool www.Unite4Labour.org

At the Labour Party conference in Brighton today, (28th September) Unite will launch its new online election campaigning tool for the union’s two million members. They will play a crucial role in campaigning for a fourth term Labour government.
Created by Unite, the site allows Unite members to contact the local campaign in their area. This is particularly important in the key seats where the election will be won and lost.
The new website site is at the cutting edge of new media and has the first ever union online telephone bank. This enables members to ring fellow members in the key seats where in every case unite membership exceeds the Labour majority.
Unite sent officials to America during the presidential primaries, the Democratic convention and Obama’s election campaign. Working with the American United Steel Workers Union during Obama’s campaign, Unite saw that that union members talking to union members helped deliver victory for Obama.
