CIOT: Andrew Hubbard has set out the Institute’s theme for the year

Andrew Hubbard, the incoming President of The Chartered Institute of Taxation, has set out the Institute’s theme for the year at the annual CTA Address.

The CTA Address was preceded by the CIOT’s annual general meeting, at which the new President takes office.

Andrew Hubbard said: “The relationship between taxpayers, tax advisers and tax administrators is changing. The year ahead will be dominated by the new HMRC Powers regime. It is very important that the taxpayer, the tax adviser and the tax administrator clearly understand the new rules, making sure that these rules work fairly and that the safeguards are properly respected.”

Teresa Graham CBE gave the CTA Address. The CTA Address took place on Tuesday 12 May 2009.
