Unite reaction to Ed Miliband’s comments on energy bills
Unite joint general secretary, Derek Simpson said:
“The energy companies are full of heartless excuses on why they can’t reduce our fuel bills. Ed Miliband’s comments are welcome and show that the Government means business this time and will not allow the energy companies to continue to win out over consumers.
“The big six energy companies must pass on the significant drop in the price of wholesale gas and electricity to consumers – it ‘s a very cold winter and we’re struggling to heat our homes. They have no excuses and the Government have made clear that they are now on the side of working familes struggling to cope with the credit crunch.”
