Scotland getting it right on managing flood risk says the ABI

Scotland is developing the right strategy for managing the rising flood threat the ABI said today.

Commenting on The Scottish Rural Affairs and Environment Committee Report on Flooding and Flood Management, Justin Jacobs, the ABI’s Assistant Director of Property Insurance, said:

“This report identifies the right priorities for managing the flood threat in Scotland. We agree on the need for more comprehensive and accurate information on the flood risk, especially from surface water flooding, and the need for a long-term investment strategy. The Committee rightly recognises the need for ensuring that flood vulnerable properties are more resilient to flooding.

“This is the right approach, not just for Scotland but for the rest of the UK, and we support implementation of the Report’s recommendations.”
