ABI expands its public affairs team

The ABI (Association of British Insurers) has appointed Amy McLaren to join its busy Public Affairs team as Parliamentary Affairs Adviser, working across all insurance, pensions and savings issues.

Amy’s role was created to further enhance the ABI’s extensive programme of work with Parliament. Amy joins us from ComRes, where she was a Parliamentary research analyst. Prior to that, Amy was Parliamentary Research Assistant to Stephen Crabb MP.

Amy said:
“The ABI has an excellent reputation across both Houses of Parliament, which I am looking forward to building on. I am excited about this opportunity to ensure that the industry’s profile and contribution are recognised in Parliament.”

Alan Leaman, the ABI’s Director of Corporate Affairs, said:
“Amy will make a major contribution to the ABI’s work. Her appointment expands our capabilities in a vital area, ensuring that the insurance industry is represented effectively at UK Parliamentary level.”
