ABI: Financial media award winners 2006

It is the year of the double. Five of the award winners at this year’s ABI (Association of British Insurers) Financial Media Awards held last night retained the award they won last year. Hosted by Jon Culshaw at The Dorchester, an audience of 400 representatives from the financial services industry and all sectors of the financial media celebrated the best in financial journalism.

The communication and press teams at ABI’s member insurance companies voted for the winners of each of the 15 awards.

Two years in row winners were BBC Money Box (Best Financial Programme), Teresa Hunter (Best Financial Freelancer), Andrea Typhonides (Best Life Insurance Trade Journalist), Lynn Rouse (Best General Insurance Trade Journalist), and Corey Boles (Best Business Journalist).

Paul Lewis scooped the prestigious Lifetime Achievement award. The Guardian was voted Personal Finance Newspaper of the Year. John Greenwood picked up the award for Best Personal Finance Journalist. John Husband was voted Best Personal Finance Editor of the Year.
