Chillaxed Cameron broke off from Nato meeting to go sightseeing

David Cameron broke off at the end of the Nato summit in Chicago to go sightseeing, Barack Obama has joked.

The observation comes as the prime minister faces criticism at home for spending too much time relaxing playing video games and drinking wine.

“I encouraged everybody to shop, want to boost the hometown economy,” Obama said of his fellow Nato leaders.

“If you talk to leaders from around the world, they love the city. I was just talking to David Cameron – I think he’s sneaking off doing a little sightseeing before he goes home.”

Aides insisted to reporters that Mr Cameron only left when the summit ended so he could spend a couple of hours visiting central Chicago and visiting the British consulate.

Mr Cameron has branded the biography which makes the 'chillaxing' claims "a novel".
