Woman faces MP stabbing charges

The woman who hospitalised former Treasury minister Stephen Timms is appearing in court later.
Roshonara Choudhary, 21, of East Ham, London, is due at the Old Bailey where she faces charges of attempted murder and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon.
It follows the injuries suffered by Mr Timms at a constituency surgery session on May 14th. He was stabbed twice in the stomach and was forced to remain in the Royal London hospital for five days as he recovered.
A review of security arrangements has concluded that there is no reason further constituency surgeries cannot go ahead. Mr Timms’ office has announced his first session for constituents since the incident will take place on Friday June 4th at East Ham town hall.
Speaking as he left the Royal London hospital, Mr Timms said: “I am extremely grateful for the hundreds and hundreds of messages of support and good wishes that I have received.”
