Prince’s Trust made illegal Tory donation

The Prince’s Trust acted illegal by donating £10,000 to a groups campaigning for the Conservative party, the Charity Commission has found.
The Trust held a joint fundraising event with Women2Win, which campaigns to have more Tory women MPs elected.
It has paid back the money but insists it acted in good faith.
The Commission said it had risked its “reputation and independence”.
A Trust spokesman said: “We accept the findings of the Charity Commission and regret that this occurred.
“However, we would like to point out that our volunteers acted in good faith to raise vital funds for young people and did not knowingly breach any regulations.”
The Trust provides funding, education and mentoring to disadvantaged young people trying to start up successful businesses.
