Lawyers bugged ‘in their hundreds’

The alleged bugging of Labour MP Sadiq Khan may have been just one of many conversations between lawyers and their clients in prison, a report claims.

The Daily Telegraph cites an unnamed source saying the bugging of terror suspects and other serious criminals after 9/11 has been expanded to include “other category A prisoners such as murderers”.

Shadow home secretary David Davis believes it is “inconceivable” that the covert recordings did not take place without ministerial approval.

The Ministry of Justice did not comment on the allegations.
