With the UN's road safety week and the government's consultation on a new victims' code coming to a close, Mark Spencer, MP for Sherwood, addresses sentences for people convicted for road traffic offences on Thursday. (See today's comment piece, "Our society excuses road crimes, but they kill us just the same.")
In the House of Lords, Baroness Parminter tackles taxing single use plastic bags, and Braoness Quin looks into the 'bedroom tax', the under-occupancy restriction for housing benefits recipients.
The House of Commons will debate the cost of living and economic growth, and the transport committee will look into accessible transportation for people with disabilities with a host of witnesses offering expert opinions. This week also sees MPs tackle the social care bill, which still has the potential to be hugely significant.
