Ukip: Cameron’s veto won’t appease eurosceptics

Ukip leader Nigel Farage gives his response to David Cameron's use of the veto against European proposals for more fiscal integration:

"What happened here was a sign of weakness… we finish this summit with Cameron having gained absolutely nothing. The prospect for repatriating powers now has disappeared completely.

"This is not a good situation for Cameron. If he thinks by doing this he's somehow appeased the eurosceptics, far from it – he's fed it.

"The real European debate began today. It is quite untenable for us to remain in the union, alone on the outside, having laws made for us in a permanent voting minority.

"The time has come for Britain to make its mind up – we must have that referendum."
